Hello,
Have you finished all of your Christmas decorating yet?
I think with this weeks project I am pretty much done. If you have read some of my other posts you may know that we have several new furry friends this Christmas. Their presence in our house has been the impetus for many of my recent projects and has prompted the Cats vs Dogs series. If you have followed this blog for awhile you may also know that the end of last year was quite difficult in terms of losing several of our fur babies in a very short period of time.
Our new household has its own rhythm, quite a bit more chaotic than the calm flow of our previous four legged family and there is still a bitter sweetness to it all. In terms of decorating, our new brood has made things a little more challenging. There are many things to consider. Nothing breakable is allowed. Loose items that might be knocked off a shelf or completely tipped over are avoided. There are only a few places in the house where decorations stand a chance of survival. I can not in good conscience subject our Christmas Tree to the current battle ground also known as our living room. And so this is the extent of the decorating for this year.

These Tin Can Nesting Dolls that I made a few years ago. Full post and free templates here.
And finally these new Christmas Stockings. I know you can buy Christmas Stockings at the dollar store but where is the fun in that? I like to use up stuff I have and as it turns out I had part of our bed sheet left from the Dogs vs Cat Bed Covers Project from a few weeks ago.
The sheet was pink but I also had some red paint left over from a kitchen project and a white bath towel with a couple of stains on it. And well, if you are me, that all adds up to everything you need to make your own Christmas stockings.
Happy Upcycling,
