Hello Friends,
Today I have a simple scarf re-fashion. This is not my design I stole it from my nieces who wore theirs to a family gathering. I thought that it was such a lovely idea and I wanted to try it for myself. I really like the asymmetrical way that the scarf hangs when you wear it as a poncho and the versatile way you can still wear it as a scarf. Over the years I have received several of these pretty shawl scarfs and I do like wearing them but they are a little difficult to keep on if you are just wearing them as scarves. Converting them to ponchos allows you to wear them without worrying about them falling off your shoulders. So if you are like me and you have a few of these wrap / scarves laying around you may what to convert some of them too.
It is super easy to do. If you have a sewing machine it really does only take a few minutes. I made two and one of them I sewed by hand just because I am weird that way.
To make your own just fold the scarf in half along the short side. (with right sides together if there is a right and wrong side) Measure 12 to 14 inches from the fold and stitch from that point to the end of the scarf sewing the side together. And that's it you are done. Turn the seam to the inside and it is ready to wear.
Here is a short video to show how easy it is to go from one look to another.
Thanks for stopping by and
