Hello All,
I hope this post finds you well where ever you are. It is spring here in Colorado and time for planting and getting outdoors. The evenings are still cooler here and the hubby and I have been enjoying a few fires in our back yard fire pit. Is it just me or are fires completely mesmerizing? I can amuse myself for hours just watching the flames and of course playing with the fire poker. I might be a little bit pyro. :-)
I also like old and rusty things but I am not very patient when it comes to just leaving objects out in the elements to see what will happen to them. I have read that you can use sand paper and vinegar to help speed up the process but that still takes more time and energy than I wanted to spend.
My plan was to make some rustic looking herb garden tins and a rustic vase from these thrifted tins.
I am betting that you can guess where this is going.
It doesn't take long to look like this.
You can use tongs to remove the object and assess the progress or you can just leave it like I did and see what you get once the fire goes out.
I am pretty happy with the two tins in front. I am planning to "cook" the one in the back a little longer.
Happy Upcycling,
