Hello Peeps,
It's lovely to have you here.
I must start by saying that I apologize for I fear that this post is being slapped together at the last moment. I had bigger plans for detailing the process of making these little boxes. I was going to have beautiful pictures and even a short video but there is no video and well some of my photos are not too pretty. I do hope you can make sense of it anyway.
To start you will need:
4 cracker or cereal boxes
The 4 templates printed out on white paper (at the bottom of this post)
Some torn out book pages
12 photos (3 inches x 3 inches)
Red food coloring
Some Valentine colored tissue paper
A hot glue gun
Mod Podge
Paint Brush
Scissors
Ruler
Exacto Knife
Step 1 - Open the cereal / cracker boxes at the tabbed seam and lay flat.
Step 2 - Use Mod Podge to glue the box bottom, top and two side template pieces to the inside of the cereal / cracker box avoiding folded areas.
Step 3 - Once Mod Podge is dry use scissors to cut out the four pieces. This will make one block.
Step 4 - Repeat steps 1 through 3 to make three more blocks.
Step 5 - Use hot glue gun to attach piece together. Glue tabs to the inside of the box. (Template side is the inside)
Step 6 - Use ruler and exacto knife to score along all blue line. Note - You will be scoring the box on the outside not the side with the template.
Step 7 - Fold the box and test the fit. Do not glue the final tab yet. If needed trim the sides of the tabs.
Step 8 - Lay box out flat and use Mod Podge to apply torn pieces of tissue paper to the outside of the box.
Step 9 - Once the Mod Podge is almost dry trim the excess tissue paper from the edges and assemble the box by hot gluing the last tab in place. If the Mod Podge is completely dry it may cause the tissue paper to tear when folded. If this happens just apply another layer of tissue paper to affected areas after the box is assembled.
Step 10 - Add photos to the top and two side of each box. I used some photo editing software to make the pictures the same colors.
Step 11 - Dip book pages in water mixed with a few drops of red food coloring. And allow to dry.
Step 12 - Cut out "LOVE" and "KISS" letters from templates provided below
Step 13 - Use Mod Podge to attach the letters to the pink dyed book pages.
Step 14 - Trace a three inch square around the letters and then fold and tear.
Step 15 - Apply letters to the front and back of the boxes.
Step 16 - Fold excess pink dyed book pages in an accordion style and cut narrow strips to make paper confetti.
Step 17 - Fill with goodies for your special Valentine.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Just in case you are wondering about why this post is so rushed.
It has to do with this
and this
That adds up to the 36 pounds of crazy we just added to our lives. More on them later I am sure.
