Hello,
Thank you for visiting.
It is windy and cool here today but Spring is in the air. The grass is green and a few flowers are sprouting. It is a lovely time of year. Still a bit to chilly for today project but soon it will be sleeveless weather.
Today project is a simple scarf and tank top mash-up. The tank top had an uneven hem and a small hole toward the bottom and the scarf was in my collection. I collect scarves. I don't wear scarves. I can't explain it. So don't ask. :-)
First I measured and marked tank to desired length.
Stitched a line to mark where the top edge of the scarf will be sewn. (The tape is marking the center front.)
Then I cut long narrow strips from the bottom of the tank top....
to braid into a drawcord.
Stitched two buttonholes into the center top of the scarf. Reinforced with some of the knit fabric.
Pinned the scarf along the stitch line.
Machine stitched the casing and threaded the drawcord through.
I decided to let the excess scarf hang down in the back.
Happy Upcycling,
