This was such a fun and easy project. Which, by the way, I am very thankful for because I had been feeling a little uninspired of late. I was starting to wonder just where all of my creative spunk had gone.
Anyway you may have seen this idea before I was personally inspired by this cute little pumpkin from Anthology on Main.
You start with an old book. Like this one.
Cut a template out of an old file folder. Trace around your template on the first page and then cute 2-3 pages at a time. Repeat process to the end of the book.
If you are using a hard cover book carefully remove the cover.
Once all of the pages are cut fan out the item and apply a small amount of paint to the edges of the pages. I watered down my paint a little bit so that it would seep into the page a little bit.
For the decorations I used some gum wrappers that I had saved (because I knew I would need them some day and yes I am a confessed hoarder.)
I used a little wire and a balled up gum wrapper for the Christmas balls and a two flat pieces of wrapper to make the star tree topper.
Then I wrapped a few match boxes in more gum wrappers, Found a red napkin and a tuna can and there you have it.
One miniture Christmas Tree upcycled from an old book.
Happy Upcycling,
Are you wondering if I really said I used a can of tuna? Well yes I did. It was a good height to raise the tree up so I could put the "presents" under it.
